A sinus graft—also known as a sinus lift—is a specialized surgical procedure that adds bone to your upper jaw to prepare for dental implants. This treatment is especially helpful when natural bone has receded due to tooth loss or age.
At Sani Dental Group in Mexico, sinus grafts are performed with precision using high-quality, biocompatible materials. Whether you’re planning a single implant or a full restoration, this procedure ensures you have the strong foundation needed for long-lasting results. It’s a safe, effective option for patients seeking affordable dental solutions through medical tourism.
Enhances Implant Success Rates
With a solid foundation in place, the chances of successful implant integration significantly increase—especially in the back upper jaw, where bone is often thinner.
Commonly, after providing anesthesia, a sinus lift begins with an incision in the gum to expose the bone. Then, the surgeon will cut a small area of the bone and lift it into the sinus cavity.
After lifting the area, the surgeon will add the bone graft material. To finish, the incisions will be sutured.
This procedure can take from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on how complex it will be. The jawbone will develop for around 4 to 12 months before the implants are placed, although there might be cases where the dental implants will be placed after the sinus lift procedure is done.
