Bone grafting is a restorative procedure used to regenerate lost or weakened jawbone—providing the strength and stability needed for future dental implants or other treatments. At Sani Dental Group, we offer high-quality bone grafts in Mexico using trusted materials and advanced techniques to help preserve your oral health.
Whether you need a small graft after a tooth extraction or a larger rebuild for full-mouth restoration, our specialists provide personalized care to ensure optimal healing and long-term success.
During a bone graft, the missing bone can be replaced with bone from the patient’s own body, from another natural source, or sometimes a synthetic material is used.
After providing anesthesia, the surgeon will make an incision at the graft site, to have access to the bone underneath.
Then, the grafting material will be added. Your body will absorb it and be replaced by new bone.
When the material is in place, your surgeon will secure it with a dissolvable adhesive material or a membrane. At the end of the procedure, the gum tissue will be sutured.
Restores jawbone volume and strength to support implants and prevent facial collapse
Preserves facial structure for a youthful appearance
Prevents bone loss after extractions or periodontal disease—keeping other teeth stable
Depending on the patient’s situation, one of the following types of dental bone graft procedures will be performed:
Block Bone Graft
A block bone graft, considered a major graft, is done when there’s a large portion of bone missing. It involves placing a small block of bone into the implant placement site and securing it with tiny screws.
It is not a long procedure, but the patient has to wait approximately four months for it to heal before getting their implants placed.
Benefits of Block Bone Graft:
High Biocompatibility: Minimizes risk of rejection while integrating well with natural bone.
Excellent Volume Preservation: Maintains space and shape in areas with significant bone loss.
Slow Resorption: Supports long-term bone structure and stability before implant placement.
Ideal Scaffold: Encourages natural bone to grow around the material for predictable healing.
Block bone grafts are a reliable and robust solution for rebuilding large areas of lost bone with precision and strength.
Socket Preservation
Also known as ridge preservation, this technique is performed right after a tooth extraction to prevent the sides of the socket from caving in, and jaw deformities; it preserves the socket’s width and height.
This procedure can improve a smile’s appearance and increase the chances of success for dental implants.
Benefits of Allograft:
Prevents Bone Collapse: Maintains the natural height and width of the alveolar ridge.
Improves Implant Success: Ensures there's enough bone for future implant stability.
Reduces Need for Future Grafting: Minimizes additional surgeries by preserving bone early.
Maintains Facial Aesthetics: Helps prevent the sunken look that often follows tooth loss.
Socket preservation is a proactive and effective solution to protect your bone after a tooth extraction.
